Re-reading !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I suddenly realized that the only way to get things to fall into place is for Valentino Rossi to go out of the picture and retire.

Why should he retire? He’s still competitive. Sure, he has been a jackass last season, but still a threat for podiums and wins.
Wouldn’t it be more interesting if any rider could express his/her ideas without fear of penalties from the teams, sponsors, race organization, etc.?
Running someone off the track is really bad though. His penalty seemed light for that.

I’m not saying he should retire, but rather, such dream teams I came up with back at that thread can only happen if Rossi isn’t there anymore.
He still has a decade’s worth of riding left, at most. It’s just that the ramifications will be immense the moment he calls it.

OK. I agree that Rossi is such a big influence on the sport that lots of other leading rider alliances and team affiliations are impacted by Rossi. The early dominance, and longevity of his career have given him an outsized following and support. When he finally retires, there will be a big boots to fill.

I read through some of it, I think for Mac it comes down to this year, he’ll either go to Yam and stay there or stay at Suzuki for the long haul.
If Pedrosa goes to Yam (right choice considering his weight and the fact the Yamaha needs less force to be ridden fast) it’ll be for a year until Rins comes to the team (it all points to him going to tech3 if Yamaha ends up keeping him)
All the journalists in the know agree that it is very very very unlikely that Stoner returns full time.
The only way Marquez is leaving Honda is for Yamaha when Rossi retires or when Ducati makes an insane money offer and Lorenzo has proven it’s able to fight for championships.
Long term nobody knows, but i’m pretty sure 2018 will be Valentino’s last, lets hope he gets his 10th
